The Owners is a 2020 horror thriller film adapted from the graphic novel Une nuit de pleine lune by Hermann and Yves H. Directed by debut director Julius Berg, with a screenplay by Mathieu Gompel and Julius Berg in collaboration with Geoff Cox, it stars Maisie Williams, Sylvester McCoy, Rita Tushingham, Jake Curran, Ian Kenny and Andrew Ellis.

Three friends, Gaz, Nathan, and Terry think they have found the perfect easy score: a house, in the English countryside, with a safe full of cash. Things are complicated when Nathan's girlfriend, Mary arrives, as they are using her car. However, the four of them break into house when the elderly couple, Doctor Richard and Ellen Huggins, who live there leave.
They look for cash but fail to find any. The couple return early. The friends Force the couple into the basement and tie them up. The three young men attempt to extort the Doctor, much to Mary's disgust. Gaz, the most ruthless pulls a gun and threatens to hurt Ellen. Nathan threatens to cut her finger off. But no matter what they do the Doctor continues to refuse to give them the combination to his safe. Mary reveals she is pregnant. Gaz and Nathan fight, as Nathan does not wish to go through with the heist any longer, leading to Gaz stabbing him. Mary kills Gaz. She and Terry untie the couple. The couple recognize them from the village.
The Doctor offers to save Nathan's life but instead kills him and pretends to call for an ambulance. Ellen drugs Terry who begins to have delusions that Mary is her twin sister, Jane, who he used to date. It becomes clear that Ellen has dementia and she believes Mary is the old housekeeper. Mary continues to attempt to leave the house but is thwarted every time. Smoke begins to fill the house, choking Mary and Terry.
The couple emerge in hazmat suits and gas masks. They attack Mary and Terry with knives, cutting them. Mary fights them off, eventually taking Ellen hostage at knife point, but not before Ellen drugs her. She demands the keys to the house and Terry in an exchange. The Doctor agrees and she goes to Terry, receives the keys, and unlocks the door to the garage. She drags an unconscious Terry down the stairs with her. She drags Terry into the car and starts it. She opens the garage doors only to see the couple standing outside staring at her. Terry wakes up and shoots Mary.
